Oregon has made great strides toward addressing our addiction crisis, but much work is still required to end it. We support Oregon Recovers Advocacy Day, which focuses on increasing access to services while improving the State's management of our substance use service system.

Oregon Recovers is focusing on the following:

1. ACCESS TO SERVICES: People cannot recover without access to services, and Oregon has many gaps in the continuum of care: prevention, outreach & peer support, treatment, and housing.

Specifically:

HB 2270: Directs the Oregon Health Authority to increase by 30 percent the reimbursement rates for addiction medicine services.

Governor’s Budget: Builds on existing investments and includes $90 mil. for behavioral health facilities and $24 million in workforce incentives.

2. RECOVERY HOUSING: Sober living is a growing model of care, and it helps people by providing supportive services as they transition from a life of using substances.

HB 3146: Directs the Oregon Health Authority to administer a pilot program to provide low-barrier emergency housing for houseless or unsafely housed individuals on waiting lists for residential substance use disorder treatment or withdrawal management programs.

HB 2239: Directs the Oregon Health Authority to adopt minimum quality and
performance standards to certify recovery residences that contract with the authority, a coordinated care organization, or a county behavioral health department to provide housing supports to individuals with substance use disorders.

3. IMPROVING THE SYSTEM: A long-term vision that includes improving government strategies and focusing on access to care, especially youth and primary prevention, is needed.

Alcohol and Drug Policy Commission:  We support the restructuring and
the direction of the APDC to take on a greater role in the study and delivery of
SUD supports throughout the state, including bills HB3375, HB5025,
HB2502, HB2506

PRIMARY PREVENTION: HB 3321 Directs the Alcohol and Drug Policy Commission to develop and implement a primary prevention state strategy to prevent the onset of substance use.

Your location data (residential address or postcode) it is used to locate your elected representative, to pre-populate your email signature and to provide The Campaigner with a visualisation of the location of the support for this campaign.
All other data you may enter, including your email address, name, telephone number, commentary and so on is used by The Campaigner to advocate for the campaign’s goals and where required may be sent to the target of the campaign.

The data collected by Do Gooder is also used by us in aggregate form to improve the service and may be held on your behalf outside your country of residence by our third party service providers. These providers are bound by contract to only use personal information on our behalf, in accordance with agreed terms. While the privacy laws of the country in which personal information is stored or transferred may be different from those in your country, we will always have safeguards in place when storing or transferring personal information. We will never sell, rent, loan or in any other way pass your information on to other parties other than to provide this service to you and The Campaigner.

The personal information collected by Do Gooder is held subject to a Data Processing Agreement between Do Gooder and The Campaigner in compliance with the EU's GDPR and Australian law.
